UC Santa Barbara Policy 1510 Policies Issuing Unit: Academic Affairs Date: November 1, 1987-Upon approval of the Senate Committee on the Library and the Executive Vice Chancellor the library intercampus bus service was discontinued effective July 1997.-LIBRARY INTERCAMPUS BUS SERVICE I. REFERENCES: UCSB Policies Manual. Policy 5870, University Identification Cards. II. POLICY: A. Use of Bus: 1. Passengers: The bus carries eight passengers. a. Eligibility: Faculty, students, and staff are eligible with current registration or University identification. b. Reservations: Reservations can be made with the Interlibrary Loan Service, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in person or by telephone (893-3713 or 893-3436). Reservations are accepted up to one week in advance for round-trip or one-way. In making a reservation, please give your status and phone number where you can be reached in case of emergency cancellation. If you cannot keep a reservation, please cancel to give another person your space. c. Baggage Limitations: Brief cases and backpacks only. Any other luggage must be transmitted through the campus mail service. 2. Delivery Service: The bus delivers parcels for University business only from campus mail room to campus mail room. There is no special delivery. Parcels marked "via intercampus bus'' and picked up by the campus mail service anywhere on campus will be gathered at the campus mail room and transported to UCLA mail room by bus when there is space. Whether the parcels will go that same day depends on the number of passengers scheduled and the load of library materials. Cargo space is limited as the bus carries large amounts of library materials. There can be no guarantee of delivery on any given day. B. Schedule: The bus leaves the UCSB Library Loading Area Monday through Friday, throughout the year at 8:00 a.m., and reaches the UCLA University Research Library at approximately 10:00 a.m.; leaves UCLA at 2:25 p.m., and arrives at UCSB at 4:30 p.m. The UCSB Library does not charge for nor guarantee this service.
